Comedienne to visit Oklahoma City

A singer, author, and comedienne whose self-deprecating humor has won her many fans is on the way to Oklahoma City.

Heather Land is probably best known for her “I Ain’t Doin’ It” videos, which appear on YouTube. Land began posting her mini rants to the platform in 2017, when she was dared to make her feelings public. Using a “face filter” that distorts her appearance, Land regales viewers with sassy remarks and observations about life in general. The videos have been seen more than 300 million times, leading to requests for Land to make live appearances. Poster printing is often used to create colorful advertising for events like this.

Land’s success comes largely from her ability to find humor in frustrating situations, as well as her talent for taking apart ordinary events so people can laugh at the situation, each other, and themselves. Her subjects include everything from failed diets to ex-husbands, dating after age 40, single motherhood, and everything Southern, all delivered in here self-effacing style. Land uses her storytelling ability to reach her audiences, reminding them that life can be both amazingly funny and exceptionally difficult, often at the same time.

Heather Land will be at the Tower Theatre on September 8, at 8:00 pm. The doors will open at 7:00 pm, with will call and the box office opening at 6:30 pm. There is free parking near the theater.
