Youngstown community to celebrate pollinators

A community gathering is in the works in Youngstown for this spring with area residents invited to celebrate the native plants and creatures that make the season bloom.

The 2nd Annual Pollinator Palooza, which is being presented by the Mahoning Soil and Water Conservation District, will be opening its gates to visitors and members of the Youngstown community who wish to join the fun. The family-friendly event will shed light on the plants native to eastern Ohio, the pollinators that allow them to thrive, and the role they both play in providing a healthier environment.

The gathering will also provide educational segments that teach attendees how they can make a difference in supporting birds, bees, butterflies, and other creatures within Mahoning Valley. Promoters can use brochure printing to provide visitors with materials that share information that can be taken home for community members to continue making a difference after events like this.

It is an ideal opportunity for experienced gardeners in the community, as well as those who are wanting to begin gardening, to come together at a fun outdoor celebration. Local vendors and community partners will also be at the festival, adding to the atmosphere and experience.

The Mahoning County Soil & Water Conservation District on Industrial Road in Youngstown will host the celebration. It’s scheduled for Saturday, May 9th, at 10:00 AM. Admission is free and open to the public.
