Contractors, as well as construction companies and designers, sometimes take the opportunity presented by a new job to spread some Promotional Products in the immediate area to create good will and to increase their name recognition.
Making improvements to infrastructure, as well as the aesthetic and safety aspects of several downtown area streets is the agenda of Smart2. It has been awarded a $10.85m from a grant program of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
A $6.9m contract was awarded in May to Parella-Pannunzio Inc. for the installation of storm sewers as well as duct banks, the reduction of lanes on Fifth Avenue and safety upgrades that include new traffic signals. The company is not expected to commence work on the project until after July 4, according to Charles Shasho, the Youngstown deputy director of public works.
Environmental Design Group’s role will be to supply oversight to the Smart2 Network project. Each phase of the project is to have its own separate contract.
