Two new businesses opening in Youngstown

Construction has begun on two businesses slated to open on Youngstown road some time later this year. According to reports, an O’Reilly Auto Parts store and a Bottom Dollar Food are moving in and bringing new jobs with them.

Delhaize America operates Bottom Dollar, which already has three Ohio locations in or near Youngstown. Company spokesman Benny Smith said Delhaize looks for sites where the populace embraces the discount food concept the company offers, and has been delighted with Youngstown’s response. The company is planning to hire 50 employees for the newest site.

Delhaize America has 53 stores in operation in three states: Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The company is a full-service supermarket, offering fresh meats, produce, and national and private brands, all at discounted prices. It sister companies include Reid’s and Food Lion.

The building itself is located at 1756 North Road, will comprise 18,661 square feet and is expected to cost approximately $1.5 million.

O’Reilly Auto Parts’ new building comprises 7,225 square feet and costs approximately $455,000. It will be diagonally across the intersection from the Bottom Dollar Food. O’Reilly expects to hire eight new employees for this location, including a manager as well as full- and part-time workers. O’Reilly currently has 115 Ohio locations, and stores throughout the nation; it expects to open as many as 190 new locations nationwide by the end of 2013.

Both companies could consider working with business card printing services to make sure their new employees have cards that reflect the current addresses and phone numbers of the stores.
