Nature school to teach Youngstown youth
An outdoor learning experience is being organized in Youngstown for the town’s youth, providing an opportunity to explore their daily surroundings more deeply.
The Nature School: Honey Bees class session, organized by WildYou, is getting ready to open enrollment, and parents of nature-loving children will want to get their kids signed up. The school sessions provide an entertaining and memorable way for older children to learn about and connect with Ohio’s nature. The upcoming class will focus on honey bees and the critical role they play as pollinators.
Children at the event will learn about the pollination process through engaging guided activities and outdoor play. The community is supporting the class with help from the Columbiana and Mahoning County Beekeepers Association to provide accessible learning opportunities for all. Print shops can provide educational resources to help participating children learn and retain more information at such events.
The class session may include crafting opportunities, stories, and free play, with organizers using Youngtown’s parks as the classroom settings. Parents are asked to ensure their children are dressed appropriately for these outdoor outings. Organizers will contact parents if the event is canceled due to severe weather.
The Poland Township Park in Youngstown will host the class on honey bees, which is scheduled to start on Saturday, September 13th, at 2:00 PM. Registration is open and free online.
