Music lovers and Youngstown residents excited to celebrate the holidays should block out a section in their Calendars next month, as a traditional Yule celebration is scheduled in Youngstown.
The 61st Annual Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival is around the corner, with the traditional performance scheduled in a few weeks. The tradition has a long history in Youngstown, dating back several decades, with the first iteration occurring in 1960. It is an opportunity for residents to hear traditional Yule music in an impressive setting.
Attendees will be treated to impressive music on instruments, including organ and brass accompaniments and vocals to complement the robust sound. The participants in the pageantry will wear period clothing and portray the journey from darkness to light, representing the spirit of the Holidays. Guests can expect two performances during their time at the showing’s venue. Unlike previous versions of the Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival, no dinner will be served. Attendees are welcome to bring snacks and refreshments to enjoy between the performances.
