An outdoor adventure is on the horizon in Youngstown to offer a chance to spend the waning days of summer on the water.
The Mahoning River Kayak experience will kick off in a few weeks. Participants will enjoy an aquatic adventure from the comfort of a kayak. The event aims to take each guest on a leisurely paddle session down the river to take in the Ohio wilderness's sights, sounds, and sunlight.
The adventure will be led by a professional naturalist who can answer any questions attendees have about wildlife, flora, and fauna. The guide will also share the history of the river that carved the Mahoning Valley. To get the most from the kayaking tour, interested parties should have paddling experience. Brochure printing can help guests learn the basics of kayaking while gaining more knowledge of the area at such events.
Interested parties can bring their kayak from home or rent one from WildYou, the event organizer. Registered guests should arrive thirty minutes early to complete waivers, get fitted for equipment, and take the shuttle to the launch point. Dry Bags, sunscreen, water, and snacks are recommended.
The adventure will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Sunday, September 8th, at the Lowellville Waterfront Park and Canoe Livery. Tickets cost $25 for individuals with kayaks and $50 for those who opt to rent. Reservations are available online.
