Travelers who want to get from Youngstown to Chicago soon will be able to do so via direct flights. According to the WFMJ.com website, flights from the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport will soon be flying directly to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport ten times each week. This is the first time since 2002 that Youngstown has offered daily flights.
A study on air fares done by the airport revealed that it's less expensive for travelers to fly non-stop to Chicago from Youngstown than it is for them to travel to either Cleveland or Pittsburgh, and take a plane from there. In addition to saving on the price of the ticket, they also save gas, parking fees, and cut down on the time needed to travel to the airport.
Great Lakes Airlines, a regional carrier, is offering the flights. Once leaves at 8.55 a.m., and the other at 5.00 p.m. The airline has made it easy to purchase tickets to Chicago, and from Chicago, to airports around the world, by using a computerized system. The Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport has also helped out by publishing a “how to” guide for booking flights between the two cities.
The direct flights to O'Hare from Youngstown will start July 1, 2016.
