Childrens learning session offers new knowledge in Youngstown

Parents with inquisitive children in the Youngstown area will want to save the date for next month, as a children’s preschool session will teach the basics of a sweet skill.

The Nature Preschool is set to open its doors in a few weeks for the Maple Syrup learning session, offering area children access to the natural world around them. The school will use maple syrup season to explain how the sap from maple trees is converted into syrup for treats like pancakes and waffles.

After learning more about how maple syrup is made, attendees will take a trip into the host venue’s sugar maple tree grove to see the trees and taps firsthand. Flyer printing is an excellent way to reach parents around the area and spread awareness of such unique learning experiences.

Students will watch the Rocky Ridge Neighborhood Association boil the sap to create syrup in a sugar shack. The event is open to children between three and six. The event organizers use local parks as the classroom to get kids outside and learn more about the world around them. Parents are asked to dress their children for the weather.

Youngstown’s Bear’s Den Cabin will host the learning session on Saturday, February 22, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Tickets are $12 per child, and reservations are available online.
