Cassese’s MVR has big plans to extend its bocce league into winter by creating a new structure so as to enclose its courts, and recently the Youngstown Design Review Committee gave the plans the go ahead.
Normally the bocce season begins in April and lasts to mid-September; during this period Cassese’s draws approximately 250 additional patrons six nights per week. Naturally the company would like to keep those 1500 customers per week past the middle of September.
Demolition in preparation for rebuilding to expand service can be anxiety inducing for the public; a banner printing service can help to calm worries and inform the public concerning future plans for a location.
A 114 X 74-foot building is planned that will enclose the current bocce courts and provide room for a fifth court. Included in the design will be sliding doors and windows in addition to sliding garage doors that may be opened in warm weather and closed in cold.
The patio-style structure currently in place will be demolished and another structure utilizing the same footprint will be put up. Another smaller building to be erected on the existing courts north end will house restrooms, a lobby and a spectator area.
Cassese’s hopes to have these renovations finished by mid-March 2022 so the 86 bocce teams that the facility hosts will be able to start their season.
The expansion will also allow the company to expand its Sunday banquet business.
