Medina residents can enjoy Brunswick's holiday decorations

Locals who want to enjoy seasonal decorations can make the short trip to neighboring Brunswick, which has gone all out, putting up decorations in public areas where they have never been seen before.

The holiday cheer is the result of the hard work of Girl Scout Troop 90502. The scouts and their leaders spent a full weekend working on the decorations.

Visitors can find the volunteers' handiwork at the clock tower, and at the ‘Welcome to Brunswick’ sign that people driving from Medina see when they travel Pearl Road. They have also begun decorating the Brunswick Lake Memorial, and anticipate putting up more decorations in order to get ready for the ‘Light up the Lake’ event, as well as the troop's caroling and candlelight vigil event.

“Light Up the Lake” is the idea of the Parks and Recreation Department, which invites people to put up light displays, such as Santa and the reindeer, on the shore of Brunswick Lake. With many decorations in place or on the way, Medina residents have a winter wonderland a few miles from home.

Scout leaders and city officials might consider working with a flyer printing company to create a map of the decorations that have been added to public spaces throughout Brunswick. The flyer could be made available at the listed sites.
