Medina craft fair a success

A recent craft fair in Medina proved to be a great success, with hundreds of vendors bringing unusual products to the city for visitors to enjoy.

The annual Affair on the Square brought about 150 artists and vendors to Medina Public Square, where they offered some newly-made products such as T-Shirts, clocks, and home-made treats for dogs. Other vendors showed their gift for refurbishing items. Poster printing can be used to publicize events like this.

Among the vendors who came to Medina were John Richards, who has attended the event the last four times it has been held. His company is North Coast Bottle Openers, and he has made openers from wood that came from Cleveland Municipal Stadium, which was once the home of the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. The stadium was demolished in 1996. He has also used bats that Cleveland Indians players used during baseball games to make bottle openers. Other unusual objects that he has used as his raw materials include beer traps, heads of golf clubs, and even the droid R2-D2 from “Star Wars.”

Jerod Van Rhoden is another woodworker who makes items like serving trays, lamps, and clocks and other original creations at his shop, The Chippy Beaver. His most popular items are banks he makes from post office box doors. He uses doors that still have working combinations, so the Boxes are like small safes. Attendees enjoy the craftsmen and their unusual products.
