History comes to life in Medina

The Medina County Show Biz Company is gearing up for the 20th anniversary performances of its ‘Walk with Spirit of the Past’ shows.

This year's shows will present six brand new stories about the lives of significant people in Medina's history.

The performances are dramatized presentations about Medina's history, and are given at various venues near or on the square. Actors from the Medina County Show Biz Company take on the roles to discuss events in Medina's history. For instance, in 2014, one actor portrayed an early telephone operator who told the audience about the “sneaky” things that were happening in 1901 when the first phone lines were being installed. Another played the role of a Native American named Captain Wolf, who lived in the region in the early 1800s.

This year's stories were researched and written by Roger Smalley, Judy Totts, and JoAnn King, and directed by Donna Bica.

This year, the walks will be held on September 10th from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and on the 11th and 12th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. There will be a special indoor event, ‘Dine with the Spirits of the Past’, on the 13th, beginning at 2:30 pm. The outdoor walks leave from the county's administration building, and afternoon tea will be served at Miss Molly's Tea Room.
