Walking for health in Kettering

With spring on the way, the Dayton-area city of Kettering has an event to welcome the season.

The Kettering Health Network is hosting the upcoming Spring into Health 5K Run/Walk, which will take place at Kettering College. The race is a fundraiser for the Kettering Health Young Professionals and the Good Neighbor House; the 2023 event is the 14th time the race has been held.

Good Neighbor House was founded by eight churches in the Dayton area. The organization provides hope and assistance to those in the community who are less fortunate. The House provides household items such as clothing, health education, and food pantry services to those in the area who need them most.

Prizes will be awarded to overall female and male participants, as well as first, second, and third place winners, male and female, in each age group. All finishers will be entered to win a door prize.

Anyone who wants to register now may do so, as the early registration period lasts through March 31. The price for the race is $35, with a T-shirt included. On April 1, the registration fee goes up to $40, and there is no guarantee any free T-Shirts will be left.

The race is scheduled for April 16, with packet pickup beginning at 12pm. The race proper starts at 2pm. Organizers can use banner printing to create course markers for outdoor events like this.
