Kettering is having a party to celebrate simply being Kettering.
The upcoming Kettering Block Party 2023 is a festival that brings residents of this Dayton suburb together to enjoy the great things about being part of this community. Representatives of city departments will be on hand to discuss their services, and the Fraze stage will be the venue for live entertainment courtesy of the Kettering Civic Band.
Booths will be set up in Lincoln Park where representatives from the City of Kettering’s various departments, including Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts, Volunteer, Economic Development, Engineering, Streets, Planning, Fire, and Police will be on hand to explain their jobs. The Kettering/Moraine/Oakwood Chamber of Commerce, Partners for Healthy Youth, and the Kettering City Schools are also going to be on hand.
The City of Kettering Volunteer Department will be cooking hot dogs and handing out chips that everyone can enjoy for free while they listen to the band.
A popular event is returning – the bicycle helmet fitting. Kettering’s Safety Section will provide free fittings of helmets for children from ages 5 to 16. Organizers of this type of event can use flyer printing to create handouts for attendees with a list of vendors.
The Kettering Block Party 2023 is May 31, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. There is no admission charge, and everyone is invited to attend. The band concert is scheduled for 7:00 pm. However, furry friends are not invited, so guests are asked to leave pets at home.
