An upcoming event in Kettering, a Dayton suburb, celebrates the non-profit organizations that provide safety for both animals and people, and who call the Dayton area home.
The PET Gala: The Art of Community takes place at The Modern College of Design in Kettering and welcomes both animal lovers and art enthusiasts. Artists will be creating unique installations that represent each non-profit agency being celebrated, and the Salt Block Biscuit Company will be providing scrumptious hors d’oeuvres. Beverages of various kinds, including themed cocktails, will be available.
Experts from the Evergreen Tattoo Company will be available to create tattoos, while those who prefer non-permanent designs could look to Alfiya Henna, who will provide temporary tattoos made of henna. Alloy and Argon, a Dayton company, will be on hand to provide permanent jewelry, which as the name implies, is jewelry that is welded closed on the wearer’s body.
There will be opportunities for photos, including live pet photos. A DJ will keep things lively, and a silent auction will help raise funds to benefit Miami Valley Meals, the Therapeutic Riding Institute, Dayton’s Domestic Violence Resource Agency, the Artemis Center, and the SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center.
Pets are welcome, but they must have current vaccinations, be friendly toward people and other animals, and be leashed or otherwise under control throughout the event. The gala is scheduled for May 10, and could be advertised with Posters, which organizers will find at local Print shops.
