An upcoming event in Dayton will have Kettering music fans eager to make the short trip to the city.
The Dayton Music Fest 2023 is returning for the 19th time, presented by WYSO Public Radio, with assistance from Dayton Real Estate Crush. The festival will feature more than 35 bands from the local area, including groups that are just starting out, along with artists, DJs, MCs, singer/songwriters, and more. The performers will appear in three different venues in Dayton: The Trolley Stop, Yellow Cab Tavern, and Blind Bob’s.
There is no cross-over; each band plays only once, at only one venue, and most sessions are short, about 30 minutes. Among the bands at The Yellow Cab Tavern are Life in Idle and Moontemple the first night; and Turtle Island and Human Cannonball the second. Bands coming to Blind Bob’s include Motel Faces and K. Carter the first evening, and Luxury Pushers and Turboslacker the second. Finally, bands coming to The Trolley Stop include NOVENA and The Nautical Theme on day one; and Steve Zax and The 1984 Draft on day two. Food will be available at all three locations.
The Dayton Music Fest is scheduled for October 20 and 21, from 5.00pm until 11.00pm both days. Passes for the entire weekend are $20 when purchased in advance, or $25 at the door. Admission at the door each night is $15. Organizers of events like this may use flyer printing to create handouts providing a schedule.
