Green celebration in Kettering

An upcoming event in the Dayton suburb of Kettering will provide a lot of information about ecology, the environment, and going green to help the planet.

EcoFEST 2024 is being billed as a family-oriented, green event. More than 20 new booths are participating this year.

Among the activities at EcoFEST is an opportunity to “Be Green for Halloween.” Anyone who would like to do so may pick up gently used costumes from the tenant, and donate any they no longer need.

In addition, organizers are setting up a car show featuring electric vehicles, which will be available for test drives. Anyone considering this option has a chance to try out this type of car.

Part of the fun of events like this is the food trucks, which include Brad’s on the Go, Sweet P’s Popsicles, and The Wild Banana. Since this is a green event, everyone is encouraged to BYOWB (Bring Your Own Water Bottle) and refill them from water coolers at the event. To continue the green theme, two Waste Free Sorting tents will be provided so attendees can dispose of waste.

There will also be information available on gardening, animal conservation, composting and recycling, renewable energy, bicycle information, pollinator information, children’s activities, and beekeepers and honey.

EcoFEST 2024 is scheduled for September 14, from 11.00 am until 3.00 pm. The venue is the Fraze Pavilion, and the free event is open to everyone. To publicize events like this, organizers often create advertisements by using poster printing.
