An upcoming class in Kettering will teach people about healthy eating and nutrition as they prepare a delicious meal.
Peggy Collins and Hannah Myhre-Gaskill, both with Northwestern Mutual, are the organizers of an upcoming class about nutrition and healthy eating, guided by experts from the local organization Dished!.
Attendees will make a layered salad that can be served for lunch or dinner guided by the team from Dished!. The instructors will handle the shopping, chop all the ingredients, and clean up after the event, leaving participants free to learn as they assemble their salads, which they will take home.
Dished! is a local company that is part of a growing trend—providing fresh, professionally prepared meals to patrons and subscribers. The company was founded by Katie Easton in 2020, when she was furloughed from her job in the hospitality industry due to the impact of COVID-19. She spent her newly-abundant free time prepping meals and cooking for her family. Friends began to ask her to prep meals for them as well, and Dished! was the result.
The event takes place on March 9, from 6.30 pm until 8.00 pm, at Dished!, which is located at 5860 Bigger Road. The address reads Dayton, but the store is in Kettering, and is the first brick-and-mortar Dished! to open its doors. To help participants in workshops like this learn more about the subject, organizers can use flyer printing to create informational handouts.
