Edmondson started as an assistant professor at OU and has most recently served as the Scripps College of Communication’s associate dean before being named interim dean. Numerous accolades have been heaped upon her throughout her professional life among which was the 2021 American Journalism Historian Association’s Best Article Award.

Scott Titsworth, the former dean of Scripps College of Communications, chose to step down following 15 years at his post. Titsworth has decided to do a year-long faculty fellowship leave prior to returning to teaching.
Commenting on her plans for moving forward as the interim dean, Edmondson said:
“I look forward to building on the strong momentum established by Dean Titsworth and to helping ensure that Scripps continues to rise to even greater prominence on the national and international stage. According to the press release, Edmondson will be assuming her new temporary position on July 1.
