People living in Williston Park and the surrounding area do not need to worry about the quality of education their children are receiving, according to the results of a recent ranking.
Using school ranking provided by Niche, the website Finder.com created a list of the 100 best value schools in the state. An impressive 10 high schools, 12 middle schools and 18 elementary schools from the area made it to their respective top 100 lists. A local school, Center Street School, in Williston Park, took home the top ranking in the elementary school category.
Niche keeps a list of the top 100 schools in every state. To figure out the "best value" school, Finder looked at Niche's rankings, then compared those rankings to the median home prices in each area. Schools received a score between zero and 100 based on how the median home price compared to the Niche ranking. The lower the home prices and the higher the Niche rank, the more “value” a school had.
Center Street School might use banner printing to highlight its new status as a best value. The school holds the number 30 position with Niche, while the median home price in Williston Park is $492,500, considerably lower than in other parts of Long Island. For example, George A. Jackson school, in Jericho, is number 1 on Niche, but not ranked as the best for value because of much higher median home prices.
