Although Joe Spagna has been serving the chicken cutlet vodka panini at his Orlando's Deli in Manhasset, near Williston Park, every day for more than 10 years, it is only recently that the sandwich has been declared a winner.
‘Restaurant-Hospitality Magazine’, a trade publication, recently determined that the chicken panini was the best in the country. Spagna, the owner of Orlando's Deli, decided to enter the magazine's annual food contest on a whim back in June. He sent in a copy of the recipe for the vodka sauce so that the editors of the magazine could test it out.
He recently got four Copies of the magazine, plus a special edition copy that featured a picture of his restaurant's sandwich on the cover. At first, he thought the magazines were simply a consolation prize. He then realized that he got them because the panini was chosen as the winner.
To highlight the win, Spagna could consider using Stationery printers to create a certificate for the sandwich, perhaps framing and hanging copies of the magazine on the deli's wall.
Spagna remains humble about his sandwich, telling The Island Now that he does not know if it is the best one in the country. However, he did note that a number of people have come into the shop just to order that panini and that the award might make it even more popular.Get a Free Quote for Stationery Get a Free Quote for Copies
