Pool gets ready to make a summer splash

Summer might not officially start until the middle of June, and unofficially on Memorial Day, but the Roslyn Pines Swim and Tennis Club near Williston Park will get the season started early.

The club is hosting an open house to start the summer season, and to encourage new members to join. During the open house, guests will get to experience what a day at the club would be like and participate in a number of activities.

Students from the nearby School of Rock will be put on two concerts throughout the day. There will also be a free yoga class from Practice: Mind Body Soul Yoga. Both companies are community partners with the Roslyn Pines Swim and Tennis Club. Other highlights of the open house will include a free tennis clinic and a number of art-based projects.

The management of the swim and tennis club can use brochure printers to encourage people to join for the summer. Memberships for the entire summer season range from $930 for a single adult to $2,300 for a family of five. Those who want to sample the club can purchase a trial membership, which lasts a week, before deciding whether or not to commit to a full season.

Last year, the pool turned 60 and enjoyed a jump in membership levels, due in part to reduced rates. The open house is scheduled from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on May 17th, at 38 Pool Drive, Roslyn.
