Dinner party celebrates Black excellence near Williston Park
A candlelight ball is being planned for Williston Park residents who want to celebrate with the Long Island chapter of 100 Black Women.
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women will soon be hosting its Candlelight Ball for 2025. The event will bring members of the chapter together to remember the accomplishments of the previous year and raise money to help those in need in the community. The Black and White Candlelight Ball has served as the group’s signature event and has raised over $150,000 to put toward college scholarships for women of African descent.
The purpose of the celebrations is to look at and celebrate the accomplishments of Black Excellence and African Americans over the decades. Banner printing is an excellent way to create a backdrop for the event’s stage while promoting sponsors and other local businesses at such gatherings.
The group aims to provide education, health, and economic empowerment programs for community members. They also plan to act as role models for youth seeking guidance through youth engagement. The coalition will honor Rev. Margarett Elaine McCollins Flake, Tamara Payne, and Dr. Ilyasah Shabazz, with Jasmine Anderson as the Ceremony's Mistress.
The event will be held at Jericho Terrace on Saturday, January 11th, starting at 7:30 PM and ending at 12:30 AM the following morning. General tickets are available online for $230 per attendee.
