One tradition of the holiday season is decorating with beautiful, live plants. A special sale will make these items available in the Williston Park area.
The Queens County Farm Museum is in Floral Park, a short distance from Williston Park, and will have poinsettias, wreaths, and Christmas trees for sale soon. Visitors to the farm can enjoy a visit to the farm, as well as choosing special decorations. The money raised from the sale will go to support the many educational programs offered by the museum.
The history of the museum goes back to 1697, and the farm itself has been continuously used for this purpose for one of the longest periods in the state of New York. Visitors will find a herb garden, orchard, fields, farm implements and vehicles, livestock, greenhouses, and farm buildings.
The facility is open all year, and offers a great many educational programs that vary with the seasons, both for school-age children and adults. Subjects covered including how to press apple cider, quilting, composing, and the importance of bees to the ecosystem. Banner printing can be used to create informative signage for outdoor events like this.
The sale begins next Tuesday, December 1, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm daily, with one exception. The final day of the sale is December 24, when the event will close at 2:00 pm.
