Last week, the Board of Trustees in Williston Park has voted in favor of an application to open an Indian restaurant.
Varli D.S. Hospitality Inc. will be operating the restaurant. The restaurant will be situated at 78 Hillside Avenue, in a storefront that used to be the home of Sweet to Lick Vegan Bakery before it closed in May. Banner printing can be used to promote such new eateries.
This is the second application Varli has submitted to open a dining establishment in the village. The first application was submitted in 2021 for a restaurant that would have been on 74A Hillside Avenue. The restaurant was given approval, but the plans did not come to fruition for other reasons.
The organization running the restaurant is managed by Varli Singh and Ricky Singh. The two men founded a magazine called Varli Magazine that features Indian food and the restaurants that serve it. The magazine is produced by Varli Media, which focuses on featuring and celebrating chefs who create Indian cuisine.
When the proposal was submitted, the board asked questions about what the restaurant’s opening hours would be and its sanitation schedule. According to Singh, all food deliveries will be completed before midday on Sundays in order to prevent congestion, and they will use cargo vans rather than trucks.
The restaurant’s opening hours will be every day from midday to 9:00 pm.
