The Gold Arts Center in Great Neck will soon present a virtual workshop titled “Picasso Portraits in 90 minutes! – Valentines Workshop.” The event is open to Long Island residents, and anyone from Williston Park can attend.
The workshop is aimed at adults and is structured around Valentine's Day festivities. Organizers encourage participants to sign up with their partners and learn how to paint Picasso-styled paintings together. The Arts Center is currently promoting the workshop online, and poster printing is often utilized to support these offerings.
At the event, a live instructor will guide all participants through Picasso’s cubist style and the steps needed to recreate it. Entrants can then give their completed painting to their partner as a Valentine's gifts.
Participants will need art supplies before participating in the workshop. This includes 11”x14” canvases for each participant, a set of acrylic paints, and brush sets. The Arts Center will be selling the required supplies for $35, and participants can drive by and pick them up. The Arts Center also allows participants to purchase materials online through Blick or Amazon.
The workshop will take place on February 14 between 6:15 pm and 7:45 pm. Entry for the event is $30 per person, and participants can sign up online at Gold Arts Center’s website. Those looking for more information can email Ellen Schiff at ellen@goldcoastart.org.
