Syosset vets to attend community resource fair
Long Island veterans will soon be the guests of honor for a pop-up event that will pay tribute to those who served their country and community.
Vet Fest is set to welcome former military members from all across the area, and it is on offer thanks to the efforts of the Veteran Suicide Prevention Coalition of Long Island. It will be open to veterans and their families as well, and it will be a one-stop shop experience when it comes to learning about what is on offer in their community.
The function will boast displays that highlight the services available from at least 35 different agencies, and these will be locally focused. It will give veterans an opportunity to meet and connect, building a strong support network for themselves. The kids in the crowd will be able to meet some friendly horses, view a fire truck, and make some crafts to take home.
