Syosset spring break to be full of fishy business
Syosset families are encouraged to sign their kids up for a spring break filled with hands-on fun, taking place right in their own backyards.
The Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery and Aquarium serves as both an environmental stewardship and educational center for kids and adults alike, and it has planned a schedule of spring break activities. Each day will have its own agenda, and there are also several Easter Egg hunts on offer.
The plan for the occasion includes tours of the hatchery so the kids can see how its resident fish go from egg to fry to adult. There will be feeding demonstrations and a bird buffet, and nature-based art sessions are also in the works. An activity dubbed “Nature Detectives” will explore plants and seeds, including how to make a seed bomb.
Many museums, aquariums, and other public institutions host spring break activities, which are likely to be much appreciated by the families they serve. Registration forms, T-shirts, lanyards and a variety of other promotional products for an activity will be available at a local print shop.
Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery and Museum will be running its Spring Break sessions from next Monday, April 3 to Friday, April 14. A full description of what is on the agenda can be found on its website.
