Syosset Public Library plans several events to fill the winter months
A number of events are on tap at the Syosset Public Library to keep area residents entertained and occupied through the end of the winter.
Libraries can use newsletter printing to let patrons know of upcoming events and the details needed to reserve seats or buy tickets. The Syosset Public Library publishes a season newsletter that lists all of its upcoming events.
On Sunday, February 26, at 1:00 pm, actor and writer Libby Skala will performed Lilia!, a solo show based on the life of her grandmother, actor Lilia Skala, who was nominated for an Oscar. Prior to her time in Hollywood and on Broadway, Lilia fled the Third Reich and ended up working in a factory in New York.
On February 27, at 7:00 pm, the library's 20-something librarians will host a screening of the film ‘The Lost Boys’ as part of the RiffTrax viewing series. During the screening, commentary from Cole Stratton and Janet Varney, from ‘Mystery Science Theater 3000’ will play over top of the film.
Adults looking for tech help can sign up for ‘Tech Buddies for Adults’ on February 21, at 2:00 pm. During the session, teens will answer common questions about using computers and other electronic devices.
Events planned at the library in March include Family Maker Fun on March 1, from 6:30 until 8:00 pm, a book discussion of "Imagine Me Gone" on March 14 at 7:30 pm, and gadgets workshops on Friday mornings, starting March 10.
