Syosset area plans caregiver conference

Caregivers of older adults may face their own set of challenges when it comes to day-to-day living, many of which will be addressed at a Syosset area workshop.

The Hilton Long Island in Melville will be the location for an event that will provide insight into loneliness in seniors, and it will tackle the issue from a variety of perspectives, focusing on that of the caregiver. It will include a discussion of isolation, finances, and other care needs, and it is expected that it will attract over 100 community members, as well as a variety of professionals and other exhibitors.

The function will combine a conference with an exhibitor expo, and many companies and not-for-profit groups that offer services to seniors will be on site. Author Ron E. Roe will be on hand for a book signing, and attendees can also learn about the community supports available to those who work with older adults. Caregivers may participate free of charge, with potential for continuing education credits.

Conferences and other educational events usually offer many learning opportunities in a small amount of time. A brochure printing company can offer educational materials, and these can be paired with promotional pens and other swag.

This day of learning for Long Island caregivers is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8. It will take place at 598 Broadhollow Road in Melville.
