A day of family-friendly fun with some new equine friends will soon be on offer near Syosset, and many of the activities on its agenda will be free of charge.
The Muttontown Horsemens Association will be rolling out the welcome mat for its LI Horsemen's Association Equestrian Festival, and it will give horses and the people who love them a chance to enjoy one another’s company. It will be a high-energy occasion with various demonstrations on the agenda.
The organizers of the festival say it will provide live demonstrations of show jumping, trail riding, and equine drill teams, and it will give the public the chance to learn more about horses, their care, and their riders. Mounted police units have been invited to participate. Pony rides, face painting, and time with some new furry friends in the petting zoo will round out the celebration. The goal will be to showcase the equestrian landscape that calls Long Island home
