The annual Red Hook Chocolate Festival will host a 5K run for its patrons this November.
The race will be held alongside the festival, and attendees are welcome to partake in any of the treats the festival offers after the race has ended. The race will be done in laps, with the start and finish being in the same location. The terrain will be mostly flat and paved, which is ideal for beginner runners. It is also tiered for 3K, 4K, and 5K for different participant levels. After the race, runners can enjoy a free cup of hot chocolate.
The Chocolate Festival is in its sixth year and takes place to celebrate the community’s complex history with chocolate manufacturing. It features local vendors and businesses offering tastings of chocolate and associated products all day. There will be a dessert competition, as well as rides, live music, and the traditional community art project. It is free to attend and open to the entire family.
Those participating in the race must register through the event’s website. All proceeds will go towards supporting the Hudson Valley Food Bank. Poster printing is a great way for vendors to offer useful information at events like this.
The event takes place on November 3. The race’s start and end location will be at 8 Prince Street, Red Hook, New York. The race begins at 11:00 am and ends at 12:00 pm.
