Class teaches Red Hook hand-building basics
A pottery class that takes inspiration from Mother Nature is set to welcome Red Hook learners, and it will teach the basics of building by hand in a fun and festive setting.
Lasting Joy Brewery has partnered with Nature’s Impact to offer the Winter Botanical Imprint Dishes workshop, which will provide a fun and fully guided opportunity to get started at working with clay. Seats can be reserved in advance, and the material needed will be provided.
The participants will each learn how to craft a set of handmade dishes using basic methods, and each will be unique. The participants will be able to use berries, pinecones, evergreen springs, and other natural materials to create their design, and they can choose their own underglaze color to enhance the botanicals. The projects will be fired and made ready for pickup in a few weeks.
A class or workshop can make it fun to learn a new crafting technique. Organizers can order copies of handouts and other learning materials from area stationery printers.
The crew at Lasting Joy Brewery, which can be found at 485 Lasher Road in Tivoli, is offering this session on Sunday, December 7. Tickets are $75 each, which reserves a seat, and everyone is asked to arrive by no later than 6:00 pm. Refunds will not be available.
