Bookworms and foodies can come together for an event taking place in Red Hook this October.
Individuals are invited to celebrate the spooky season's start with Chuck Wendig's Black River Orchard Book Launch & Apple Tasting Event. The occasion will feature an heirloom apple tasting and discussions. Along with that, there will be a book signing by Wendig, known for Wanderers and The Book of Accidents, as he presents his latest offering, Black River Orchard.
The book tells the tale of an orchard hosting seven uncommon trees that yield a new type of apple. Indulging in these apples prompts an insatiable desire for more, accompanied by a growth in strength and vitality. However, the craving for these apples and their unique qualities takes a darker turn.
Described as “enchanting” and “exquisite” by Cynthia Pelayo and tipped to be one of the 21st Century’s best horror novels by Eric LaRocca, Black River Orchard is an anticipated release from the Pennsylvania-based author who is also recognised for his blog, TerribleMinds.com.
