Red Hook is set to kick off summer with a community shred, and everyone is invited to take full advantage of the offer.
The Red Hook Recycling Center has scheduled a Shred Day for early June, beginning in the early morning. Those who drop items off will be welcome, or they can stay on site and watch the process, with personnel on hand to lend a hand.
Community members are welcome to bring three garbage Bags or standard paper storage Boxes of items for secure disposal, and staples and paper clips do not need to be removed. Only materials made from paper will be accepted, and they may be packed in Boxes, Bags, or another container. These receptacles will be returned after the papers have been disposed of. The organizers advise that separate arrangements may be made for office equipment, hard drives, and electronic waste.
A community shred can be an important step in helping residents to ensure their personal information is secure. A flyer printing company can prepare leaflets and other materials that let the public know about events happening in their home area.
Red Hook Recycling Center will be running its Shred Day from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 8. It is located at 21 Glen Pond Drive Road, and information about items that may be brought for disposal is available on the community’s website.
