Red Hook hosts farm festival

The Rose Hill Farm in Red Hook, New York will host an apple-picking event this November.

The specialty for this season will be Granny Smith apples. Granny Smith apples that are commercially picked are often done so before they are fully ripe. They are then stored in conditions that prevent natural maturity. The Rose Hill Farm wants to offer the opportunity to apple-lovers to enjoy this fruit when it is most fit. Typically, this happens around early November, in approximately the first week.

Granny Smith apples are characteristically green when unfit. They gain a small yellow-green hue when fully ripe, and a slight blush.

Residents are invited to come out with friends and loved ones to celebrate and have fun picking these delicious fruits. The grounds will also feature a bonfire, s'mores and hot drinks for the chilly weather. In addition, there will be a pop-up food vendor at the event, and new release cider and wine from the Taproom. For more information visit their website.

The use of Print shops are a great way for event participants to share information with attendees.

This event will be held on Saturday November 6 from 12 noon to 5.30pm. There is also a second date set for Sunday November 7. Rose Hill Farm is located at 19 Rose Hill Farm, Red Hook, New York 12571.
