Perfume has a history that goes back thousands of years, and a Red Hook-area workshop will prepare modern versions of these scents.
Lily & Marigold Home + Design in Poughkeepsie has scheduled a class that will craft custom perfumes, and it will be facilitated by the owner of Harbinger Bath. Each attendee will create their own personal signature scent to take home, and they will also be offered a discount on any purchases made on the day of the event.
The attendees will learn about perfume production, including which scents blend well together. Blending techniques and fragrance notes will be discussed, and there will be a variety of essences on hand to choose from. When it’s time to head for home, each participant will be able to take a 10ml bottle of their creation home with them to keep or give as a gift. Food and refreshments will be available. The session will have a run time of three hours.
Learning new skills may be a lot of fun, and it's an activity that can be enjoyed throughout a person’s life. A poster printing company will be happy to help keep the public abreast of any happenings in their own home area so they can include them in their plans if they wish.
This introduction to the art and science of perfume blending will run from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on September 14th. The venue will be located at 19 Eastdale Avenue South.
