New York is home to a variety of agricultural operations that raise sheep for their fleece, and a Red Hook area event will showcase them to the world.
The celebration, which takes place once a year during the third full weekend of October, offers workshops, demonstrations, a vendor market, and other activities. In the past, it has attracted attendees from across the country, and its organizers are hoping this year will be just as successful.
Those who include the festival in their plans can show some love to sheep farmers as well as the vendors that will be on site. There will be demonstrations of how sheep are herded, and a petting zoo will give children a chance to spend time with some furry and feathery friends.
An equipment auction and sheep sale will add extra value, and there will be additional activities to keep little ones busy.
Small businesses that feel the festival is a good fit for their products or services are invited to submit a New Vendor application before the system closes on April 1. Business Cards and other sales materials for a company can be sourced from area Print shops.
The 2025 New York Sheep and Wool Festival will be held on October 18 and 19 at The Duchess County Fairgrounds. Its vendor application system can be accessed online, and it will open at 9:00 am on both days.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards Get a Free Quote for Print
