NYC hosts 5k honoring a Hero

New York City will host a 5k run this September, honoring hero firefighter Stephen Siller.

Siller ran from the Hugh L. Carey tunnels to the Twin Towers to save victims during the 9/11 disaster. The route of the event retraces his final steps in honor of his brave actions. It also pays respects to all NYC first-responders.

The event is titled the Tunnel to Towers 5k Run and Walk. Runners are to be fully registered by 8:30 am on September the 26th for a smooth transition. All registration is to be done online. Those not running are invited to participate in fundraising. Registration for fundraisers is also done online.

Adult tickets range from $55 to $80, depending on the purchase date. A chip for timing is included with each ticket up to September 25. Purchasers should note that chips availability are subject to change. All runners should have their bibs by 9 am on the day that the run will take place. Registration and event details can be found on Eventbrite.

For events such as these, participants often use banner printing for engagement with their runners and other supporters.
