Art camp to kick off July

The Primrose Hill School will be hosting an art camp for local children this summer.

The event, titled Intermediate Arts, will begin in July and end the first week of August. Children will have the opportunity to create their own masterpieces using a variety of mixed media. This creative process will be guided by art and educational professionals. Children will be able to express themselves in a meaningful and productive way.

Each week, those in attendance will learn new ways of creating art. These include Print, pen, paper and brush-making, as well as bookmaking and nature sketching. The sessions will be led by fellow parent and artist Wolfy Scharf.

Alongside art, the classes will help students to develop a variety of interpersonal skills.

Though classes are held on the schoolgrounds, children from places such as Red Hook may also be in attendance. Sessions are open to students between the ages of 7 and 13 only.

The cost for registration is $350 per child. There is a five percent discount available for siblings. Further information is available on the event’s listing on the AllEvents website. Flyer printing can help to inform more students of opportunities such as this one.

The camp begins on July 3 and runs Monday to Friday until August 11, with the exception of July 4. The school is located at 23 Spring Brook Park, Rhinebeck, New York. Classes begin at 9:00 am.
