Emerge Yoga and Wellness in Massapequa Park will be starting a class this January that teaches people how to become yoga instructors.
Those interested in becoming a yoga instructor can participate in a multi-month course offered by Emerge Yoga and Wellness. Students will learn about the tools needed to maintain a sense of grounding and confidence during the class while also strengthening their bodies. The lesson will cover physical and emotional pain patterns and the philosophy and methodology of practicing yoga. Participants can use these skills to intelligently sequence and instruct private or group classes.
Vanessa Cafiero will be the instructor for the course. She originally started practicing yoga in 2001 to help with her chronic back pain. Cafiero has a degree in exercise physiology and has become a licensed massage therapist through the Finger Lakes School of Massage. The teacher is also certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners as a holistic health counselor. Instructors like this can make Business Cards to provide their information to potential students.
The yoga course will begin on January 10, 2021 and will continue until May 27. The class is intended to be in person, though the organizers are prepared to switch to hybrid or fully online learning depending on state mandates. Sessions will meet on Tuesdays from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, and Sundays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
