The community in Massapequa Park can attend the 5th Annual Long Island United Walk for Recovery next month at Marjorie Post Park.
Long Island United for Recovery is a group that wishes to honor those who have been impacted by addiction with a public walk that encourages awareness and change. One of the goals for the event is to wipe away the stigma associated with going through recovery. The family-friendly occasion will have live music, activities for children, and on-site food and beverages. There will also be giveaways available during the event in addition to public raffles.
The walk will feature a line-up of people who have dealt with recovering who will be giving speeches to the attendees. Guests can even visit the resource fair that will be held during the walk for recovery. A banner will be provided for people to sign at the event. Organizations that host gatherings like this can use banner printing services to also include signable Banners during their events.
The 5th Annual Long Island United Walk for Recovery will be held on September 29th from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Check-in for the event will open at 11:30 am. Those interested in participating in the walk can register online before the 29th. There are also volunteer roles that people can apply for by sending an email to the organizers.
