The Alzheimer's Disease Resource Center (ADRC) will hold a fundraiser and awareness-raising event at Marjorie Post Park in Massapequa Park.
The ADRC Memory Walk & Spring Festival is a special event where people can honor those impacted by Alzheimer's Disease and other varieties of dementia. Money raised at the walk will help support locals in Long Island who have Alzheimer's Disease. People can become team captains or join existing groups to help raise funds for the ADRC. Individuals who raise $100 for the resource center will receive a commemorative T-shirt at the walk.
Families can enjoy many activities at the spring festival. Kids can participate in face painting, rock painting, and planting activities. There will even be trucks at the park that guests can touch. Attendees can listen to live music, play lawn games, and eat a BBQ lunch. Breakfast will also be provided to event participants. The fundraiser walk will be held alongside the May the Fourth event from Star Wars, so there will be character actors dressed up as Star Wars characters at the fest.
The memory walk and spring festival will be held on Saturday, May 4 from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. Those 13 and older must pay $30 to take part in the event. People may also join the event virtually for $20 per person. Resource centers that host similar fundraising activities may give Promotional Products to those who meet fundraiser milestones.
