Massapequa Park locals can learn how to work with charcoal during an in-person class in December.
The Extreme Beginner's Charcoal Drawing Class is a program intended for adults where participants will hone their art skills with assistance from an experienced artist. Those in the course can bring a black and white photo of a face to use as a reference or choose from one of the provided references at the event. The pictures should have lights and shadows. There will be seven sessions throughout the program, and materials will be provided to those who join the class.
The instructor of the charcoal drawing lesson is Lisa Corradi, an artist whose works have been featured in private collections throughout the United States and Northern Ireland. She has showcased her art at venues such as the Natural Harvest Food Co-op and The Oyster Bay Arts Council. Corradi worked as a teacher for the North Merrick Union Free School District for over 25 years. She is also the founder of Life On My Canvas.
The beginner's charcoal drawing lesson will be held on Tuesday, December 6 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at the Central Avenue location of the Massapequa Public Library. All participants must register for the course. Artists who offer drawing classes similar to this may bring their Business Cards to share with students.
