Prudential Financial, the National Association of Secondary School Principals, and the White House recently recognized Anthony Morano, a theater student at Nassau BOCES Long Island High School for the Arts, and a senior at Massapequa High School, for his humanitarian efforts.
Over the past four years he has raised $10,000 for various charities and for these efforts was given the Prudential Spirit of Community Award and the President’s Volunteer Service Award. To raise some of these funds, Morano hosted the annual “Cemetery of Lost Souls” fundraiser of the Long Island High School for the Arts at his home in Massapequa Park.
In a congratulatory letter President Barack Obama wrote to Anthony, he thanked the student for his devotion, for helping to address urgent needs in the community and in the country, and for everything that he did to create a better future for the nation.
Executive Director of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, JoAnn Bartoletti, and John Strangfeld, Chairman and CEO of Prudential Financial, also wrote to Anthony and thanked him for his commitment to the community, adding that he is an exemplary role model for his peers.
Anthony and his high school may work together with a local Print company to announce his achievements and honors in the community with the use of Flyers and other print materials.
