Those interested in learning about technology-related topics can attend two online classes this November organized by the library branch in Massapequa Park.
The Bay Harbor Branch of the Massapequa Library will be holding two courses that offer information on social media and networking sites. Guests will discover how to set up accounts on popular websites, such as Facebook and Instagram, which help them connect with family members and friends, while also learning about staying safe online.
There will also be a lesson on LinkedIn that covers topics like finding companies and inviting others to a user’s network.
Each of the programs offered by the library will be conducted through GoToMeeting, and both courses will be taught by Lee Gundel from Sharper Training Solutions. The classes are accessible from computers, tablets, and smartphones, and links will be given to those who register for the class in a confirmation email. People who do not receive a link to the workshop can directly email the library for assistance.
Libraries that offer programs like this often use Print shops to produce ads for the activities.
The Intro to LinkedIn class will be held on Thursday, November 5th, and the Social Media lesson will occur on Thursday, November 12th. Each workshop will begin at 6:30pm and ends at 8:00pm. Prior registration is mandatory to attend the classes.
