The Alzheimer's Disease Resource Center (ADRC) will be organizing a walk in Massapequa Park at Marjorie Post Park.
Those interested in raising awareness and supporting those impacted by Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias can attend the ADRC Walk and Spring Festival. People who raise $100 for the event's fundraiser will receive a t-shirt and a commemorative tote bag. After the walk, guests will be treated to a BBQ lunch. Attendees will also get to participate in archery activities, enjoy a light breakfast, and plant Memory Trees to honor loved ones.
The ADRC is an organization that serves the Long Island area by providing education and support to people impacted by Forms of dementia. The group offers several kinds of therapy programs, including art therapy and equine therapy. Last year, ADRC helped enrich more than 1,500 people with its programs and educated over 400 family caregivers. The organization also hosts museum trips to the Long Island Carriage Museum.
The fundraiser walk will be on Saturday, April 22 from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. People can pay $25 to register for the event. Companies can support the ADRC by becoming a sponsor for the festival. The packages range between $500 and $10,000 and include perks like recognition certificates, a table at the event's Supporter Midway, and having the sponsor's Logo Design featured on T-Shirts.
