Actor and author to hold signing event in Massapequa Park

Stephen Axelrod will visit a local library in August to discuss his memoir with the community.

Those interested in meeting and hearing from Stephen Axelrod can attend a book signing event at the Massapequa Park Library. Axelrod will share many stories from his life during the presentation, including his time in Queens and his acting career. The featured memoir of the event is Surf Avenue, a book published last December that follows Axelrod's journey to avoid following his father's footsteps into a blue-collar career.

Axelrod is an experienced actor and playwright who went to Hunter College to get a theater degree. He has starred in off-Broadway shows such as Grandma Sylvia's Funeral and The American Clock. Axelrod has also been featured in television shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Daredevil, and Ransom. He is a winner of the Jerry Kaufman Award in Playwriting and has written autobiographical one-person shows like Blue Collar Bay.

The book signing and presentation will be held on Saturday, August 17 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm in the BH Auditorium. All library patrons must register for the event in advance. Those interested in Axelrod's memoir can purchase the book for $16.99 on Amazon. Authors who hold similar events to this may use flyer printing to promote their book signings to more people.
