Hicksville gets Burger Village

Diners who are desperate for an ostrich burger after they have finished shopping will soon be able to satisfy their craving, since a new Burger Village opened May 8 in Hicksville.

The store moved into the Broadway Mall and took over a long-vacant spot once occupied by Qdoba Mexican Grill.

The new eatery is on the south side of the mall, between the New York Golf Center of Long Island and Blaze Pizza. The small space, which seats 55, is the third in a mini-chain of burger restaurants owned by brothers Nick, Sam, Vick, and Ravi Yadav. The quartet opened their first Burger Village in 2013 in Great Neck, focusing on burgers in the $10-$15 range, using meats such as organic beef and more exotic fare like lamb, elk, bison, and ostrich. A year after they opened the Great Neck spot, they opened another in Park Slope.

Fans of the chain will find the same items on the menu in Hicksville as at the other two shops, including burgers wrapped with collard greens and peanut-butter milkshakes. The single exception is that patrons will now be able to nibble on popcorn while they wait for food, which takes some time to prepare as it is cooked to order.

Businesses like this can benefit if owners work with business card printing companies to create cards customers can take and distribute to friends.
